Ventura County Contractors Association – Careers in Construction Scholarship

Ventura County Contractors Association is stoked to introduce the Careers in Construction Scholarship Program, tailored towards goofy-footers who want to build a gnarly career out of construction!

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to all individuals who are pursuing a “Career in Construction”. Each applicant will need to have a minimum of one recommendation that accompanies his or her application. The recommendation may be from one of the following: owner(s), partner(s), teachers, instructors, officers, or employees of a local construction- oriented business firm. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in either a university, college, community college, or trade school. Applicants must also meet the following GPA minimum requirements:

Students enrolled part-time or in extended education classes at local community colleges, universities, or trade schools are eligible to apply. Grade reports, certificates of completion, or similar records of enrollment or progress should be included with applications.

Basis of Award

Awards will be given directly to the student and made payable to the institution.
  • Selection Process Selection of the recipient will be on an achievement or merit basis as determined by the application, transcripts (GPA), moral, and leadership qualities. The amount of funds awarded to the individual will be determined by the Committee.
  • Proof of Enrollment Proof of enrollment at any of the aforementioned eligible institutions must be presented in person or sent to the VCCA offices before any scholarship funds being awarded.

How to Apply

Complete the attached application and additional required documentation and deliver to the VCCA office 1830 Lockwood Street #110, Oxnard, CA 93036 or email [email protected]

Address applications to the attention of “VCCA Construction Education Committee”.

Applicants will be notified by email, allow 30 days after submittal.
