Founded in Goleta, CA in 1965 by Bob Blois, Blois Construction, Inc.®, based in Oxnard, CA, has retained the same core values and practices for over fifty years — an emphasis on quality of service, integrity, respect for others and having fun as the backbone of its daily operations.
With an emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, communication and learning, Blois has made great strides in further strengthening its capabilities and competitiveness over both the short and the long run in the construction industry.
Blois is a heavy civil contractor and has been involved in a broad range of projects — sewer, water, storm drain, concrete structures, treatment facilities, pump stations, etc. — in a variety of markets — commercial, industrial, school, infrastructure and residential — in Southern California. Project sizes can vary from $100,000 to $30 million.
The company’s versatility and experience, adaptability and close trade union affiliations are some of the keys to it success. But it is the people at Blois that give it a competitive edge. Blois strives to hire the best people that it can and develop and maintain training and learning in all areas of our business. We continually develop and improve our management systems to allow good people to perform to the best of their abilities. As a result, Blois is fortunate to have lifelong employees throughout all levels of the organization. As an example, seven of Blois Project Superintendents are members of the company’s Hall of Fame, with over 20 years of service. In turn, the “family culture” has helped to attract and retain relatives of these employees.
In addition, unlike many in its field, Blois has consistently been engaged in a broad variety of both public and private work and has performed its work as both a general contractor and as a subcontractor. This flexibility has resulted in established relationships and testimonials with a diversified group of owners and many national and regional general contractors.
